Salzkammergut, Chiemgau and Tyrol - these three regions represent beautiful landscapes, a relaxing holiday, warm bathing lakes, juicy green pastures and blooming meadows. This is why the Mozart Cycle Path was created, so that you are able to experience all of this on an impressive cycling tour.
Day 1: Individual arrival in Salzburg
Check-in and handover of bikes and tour description.
Day 2: Salzburg > Traunstein/Lake Chiemsee, ~65-75 km
Our first stage leads you along the river Salzach to Oberndorf. After passing the picturesque old town of Laufen, you continue inbound to the warmest lake of Upper Bavaria: Waginger See. Via Nussdorf you reach lake Chiemsee.
Day 3: Traunstein/Lake Chiemsee > Wasserburg, ~55-65 km
From Traunstein you cycle along lake Chiemsee up to Gstadt and onwards via Breitbrunn and Amerang to Wasserburg. All those who commencing their trip from Chieming/surroundings cycle to Seeon, whose monastery was visited by Mozart several times, and further on via Breitbrunn and Amerang to Wasserburg.
Day 4: Wasserburg > Kufstein, ~65 km
The river Inn accompanies you the whole day into the Austrian city of Kufstein, the “pearl of Tyrol”. With scarcely any efforts you can fully enjoy your trip via Rosenheim into the Tyrolean country.
Day 5: Kufstein > St. Johann in Tirol, ~50 km
At the beginning you cycle along the river Inn, before you turn into the slightly hilly “Kaiserwinkl” of Tyrol. Here you can enjoy the imposing Tyrolean mountain scenery.
Day 6: St. Johann in Tirol > Bayerisch Gmain/Bad Reichenhall, ~55 km
Today’s stage is part of the Tauern Cycle Path. For now you cycle to Waidring and afterwards to Lofer. Both places were tour stops during Mozart's travels. From Lofer you cycle to Bayerisch Gmain resp. Bad Reichenhall.
Day 7: Bayerisch Gmain/Bad Reichenhall > Salzburg, ~50 km
In Berchtesgaden you should make a small stop over. Even a trip to the nearby idyllic lake Königssee is possible before you cycle to Salzburg.
