Frequently asked questions

Is the chosen bike tour an Original France-Bike tour or a Partner-tour?
France-Bike is organzising many bike tours in the South of France. These you can find here. The others are organzed by partners who operate in the region.

Self-guided or guided?
Do you want to travel on your own? You will receive detailed travel documents, tour descriptions and maps. We have also marked numerous trips with directional arrows. GPS data are also available on request. We take care of everything else for you: booking hotels, restaurants, luggage transport. The minimum number of participants is 2 people (in the case of exceptions, where the minimum number of participants is 4, we have noted this in the travel information for the trip). You prefer a group of like-minded cyclists? Because shared fun is double fun, and on top of that, an experienced tour guide will bring you closer to the culture and history of the visited area.

Hotels
When selecting the hotels, we made sure that they are comfortable, stylish and typical of the country with special flair and a lot of atmosphere. If you are already travelling, you want to discover new worlds! In this sense, our trips are 'extraordinary' trips. All rooms have bath or shower with toilet. The hotel categories correspond to the official national classification.

Category B and A ... and 'de Luxe'
We often suggest two categories. Category B is the cheaper variant with a very good quality (2 ** hotels). Category A is trips with more demanding services in the hotels (mostly 3 *** hotels) and restaurants. And 'de Luxe' trips or trips to charming hotels are our flagship with upscale 3 *** and 4 **** hotels or castles - simply unrivaled! Here is a selection of our hotels in the south of France.

Half board
Our services in the selection of restaurants are also exceptional. Most of the time it is simply the best in their category with food that is France's glory and glory. If you have any intolerances or allergies, make sure to let us know in advance so that we can pass the information on as hotels and restaurants. Vegetarian food should be ordered in advance to make sure that you will be happy with your choice.

Luggage transfer
While you ride your bike carefree, your luggage will be taken to the next hotel. You leave your suitcase at reception in the morning and find it in the next hotel. Take a look at the general information you receive with your confirmation for further details.

Route
Our routes are classified into 3 levels of difficulty. Level (1): easy, flat, sometimes slightly hilly, Level (2): often flat and often hilly, Level (3): athletic. You can also find intermediate levels: (1)-(2) or (2)-(3).

Early bird reduction
If you book a trip by February 15, you will receive a discount of 3% on the basic price.

Rental Bikes
It is obvious that the rental bikes are the heart of a cycle holiday. Take a look at our available rental bikes here. You can also bring your own bike (and safety vest!).

What happens if my bike breaks down?
Our rental bikes are equipped with tools and a replacement tube so that you can fix a small bike breakdown (such as a flat tire) yourself. In the event of major breakdowns, please contact the service hotline in our office, which will help you further.

Helmet
Helmets are not compulsory in France (from the age of 12). However, wearing a helmet is recommended. Please bring your own helmet, France-Bike does not provide rental helmets
