Due to the success and the demand of our bike tours based in on hotel, we have created a new journey. Where? In the heart of the Lubéron Valley, where you will find a charming 3 *** hotel with garden and swimming pool. It has the best location as it offers a wonderful view of the incredibly beautiful Provencal countryside and the Lubéron and Vaucluse mountains. From here you start to your daily loop bike tours to discover the highlights of the Lubéron in the Provence : countless picturesque villages such as Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Fontaine -de-Vaucluse, Apt ... The Cistercian Abbey of Sénanque. You’ll find the deepest spring pot of the earth in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. The ocher rocks in Roussillon and Rustrel. The Roman bridge "Pont Julien". Not to mention the lavender fields, the colors and the scents.
You can stay either in a hotel in Gargas or in the hotel in Roussillon. The tour is mainly the same.
Day 1: Arrival in Gargas
Arrival at your beautiful 3*** hotel with swimming pool. You can leave your car for the duration of the tour for free at the hotel.
Day 2: Loop Bonnieux and Lacoste, ~42 km
Start your first bike tour on small roads to the Roman bridge "Pont Julien". Later you continue to the picturesque villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste before returning to Gargas/Roussillon.
Day 3: Loop tour to Rustrel, ~38 km
Today's route remains colorful and impressive: after visiting Saint-Saturnin-d'Apt you are reaching the ocher rocks of Rustrel (patrimoine national). On your way back to stop at Apt which is also the «capital» of the Lubéron Valley.
Day 4: Loop tour to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, ~56 km
On this cycle day you are always overlooking the Vaucluse chain over the lonely village of Murs to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. In this truly picturesque village, the Sorgue springs from the deepest spring pot of the earth. Other beautiful villages await you, Cabrières and Saint-Pantaléon (with an early Christian necropolis), before you reach your "home", Gargas.
Day 5: Loop tour to Roussillon and the Abbey of Sénanque, ~40 km
On the way to the best preserved Cistercian abbey in Europe, Sénanque, you first cycle to the village of Roussillon. Don’t miss the opportunity to shoot some postcard-like pictures! We recommend to take a walk to visit the ocher cliffs. Then you are passing by lavender fields to Gordes and finally to the Abbey of Sénanque, surrounded by lavender fields.
Day 6: Loop tour to Apt, ~35 km
The last tour will take you to Apt on a well-maintained bike path, a "voie verte". There you will have the opportunity to buy Provencal products in the numerous shops and markets. For example, the candied fruit, for which Apt is famous. Afterwards you can cycle on the "voie verte" to the Lubéron valley or back to Gargas where you can relax at the swimming pool with a wonderful view on the landscape.
Day 7: Departure or extra nights
