This route leads you through extraordinary valleys and territories like Val d’Elsa, Chianti (famous for its wines), Val d’Arno, Val d’Orcia, Crete senesi, via Francigena (ancient route used for pilgrimages), among vineyards and wonderful hills. Cycling along pleasant minor roads in a continuous sweet ups and downs, you’ll pass through Certaldo, birthplace of the novelist Boccaccio, S. Gimignano with its one hundred towers, Volterra ancient and perfectly preserved medieval village on the top of a hill surrounded by a memorable landscape and, last but not least, Siena, with its marvellous Piazza del Campo, a round space where the famous “Palio” takes place for many centuries, its typical cathedral and the narrow medieval streets with noble palaces.
