Day 1: Individual arrival Avignon
Arrive in Avignon and settle down in your splendid 5***** hotel with park, swimming pool and exceptional restaurant.
Day 2: In & around Avignon, ~15 km (9 miles)
At 9:30am we’ll be there to give you all the information about the tour and your bike. Then you ride out of town and through orchards along the Rhône River to Barthelasse Island. Cross the island and cycle along the river bank back to historical Avignon. Visit the town center with the famous Palais des Papes before getting back to your hotel.
Day 3: Avignon > Saint Rémy, ~25 km (15 miles)
You ride through the Little Crau countryside on small roads to St. Rémy de Provence crossing lovely villages such as Barbentane, Graveson and Maillane. In Saint Rémy you’ll stay two nights in an exceptional 5***** hotel with its large Mediterranean garden, swimming-pool and delicious restaurant.
Day 4: Saint Rémy > Tarascon > Saint Rémy, ~43 km (27 miles)
Today you can choose what you want to do. We recommend you to visit the Greek and Roman monuments at Glanum and Les Antiques. Then cycle to Tarascon with a well-conserved medieval center and an impressive castle on the Rhone River.
Day 5: Saint Rémy > Arles, ~30 km (19 miles)
There are two different ways to cycle to Arles. The sporty version leads you up over the Alpilles Mountains to the village of Les Baux de Provence. From the hilltop, you’ll have a great view over the entire Camargue. The alternative route is flat and leads you along the foot of the Alpilles on small roads and through orchards and rice fields to Arles. The town is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will spend two nights in the beautiful 5***** hotel.
Day 6: Arles > Northern Camargue > Arles , ~50 km (31 miles)
Today you have plenty of time to visit this exceptional town and its Roman and medieval monuments. You can also ride out to the nature reserve of Mas du Viguerat. You discover the famous white horses, bulls and the numerous birds of Camargue.
Day 7: End of the tour
Return transfer to Avignon with our France-Bike bus. End of the tour or continue your holiday.
