We found a dreamlike 3*** country house hotel, the ‘Chateau de l’Hoste’ in the heart of the Périgord and Quercy region. Surrounded by wood land and park areas it is the ideal starting point to discover this beautiful and natural part of France by bike. The daily stages are between 35 and 60 kilometers long and are suitable for everyone. And if one day you don’t want to ride your bike you can stay at the hotel and enjoy a day of relaxation on the hotel’s swimming pool.

Day 1: Arrival in St. Beauzeil at the 'Château de l‘Hoste'
You will be warmly welcomed at your arrival at your beautiful 3*** country house hotel. At the reception you will receive the complete tour documentation and your rental bike, if you booked one.
Day 2: Penne d‘Agenais, ~36 km/23 miles
Ride through the beautiful green country side of the Perigord on this opening stage that leads you to Penne d‘Agenais. As many towns of the region Penne d‘Agenais were born as a so called ‘bastide’, a fortified town, while the Hundred Years War. And as the situation of the war changed from time to time, Penne d‘Agenais has been French and English as well. Later on the town became an important place of pilgrimage for the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella. On your ride back to the hotel in St.Beauzeil you should not miss to visit the ‘Foie Gras Museum’ in Auradou. Tickets for this visit are included.
Day 3: Roquecor, Lacour and Lauzerte, ~51 km/32 miles
Today’s stage starts with a very short ride of only 2 kilometers to Roquecor, where you should take the time to have a closer look to the art gallery of the town. Then you go on riding passing by some lovely villages along your way before arriving in the charming small town of Lauzerte, which is situated high up on the top of a hill. Lauzerte is listed as one of the most beautiful French villages. On your way back you will pass by Montaigu-de-Quercy before arriving at your hotel.
Day 4: Day off at the castle
Enjoy a day off at the hotel and relax on the swimming pool of the hotel. Let you spoil by the French sun. You really deserved it.
Day 5: Green hills and medieval towns, ~61 km/38 miles
With over 60 kilometers this stage is the longest of the tour. You will ride again through the breathtaking landscapes of the Perigord region passing by a number of charming medieval villages where the time seems to stand still. Enjoy the incredible view over the Seoune valley in Montjoi and roll on to Brassac, where it is worth to visit the castle. The last stop on your way back to the hotel will be the town of Beauville. And as the town’s name still indicates, you should take the time to have a closer look while strolling around within the fortifications.
Day 6: Tournon-d‘Agenais and Lot valley, ~60 km/38 miles
Today’s stage will lead you northwards to Tournon-d’Agenais, which is absolutely worth a visit. In Thezac you will then have the possibility for a wine tasting of the famous ‘vin du Tsar’. Afterwards you will pedal along the lovely country side of the Lot valley before returning to your hotel by passing by Grézels, Floressas and Sérignac.
Day 7: Optional hiking trip
Leave your bike at home and put the hiking shoes on to discover the astonishing landscapes in another way. Start directly from the hotel on a 3-hours-hike along the hilly landscapes in direction of Penne d‘Agenais. You won’t regret it.

After a last delicious breakfast at the castle it is unfortunately time to say ‘au revoir’.
