Day 1: Arrival in Angers
Angers is called ‘black town’ because of its schist houses. Once a totally preserved castle, in its museum you will see the world famous tapestry ‘Apocalypse of Angers’ (14th century).
Day 2: Angers - Montjean-sur-Loire, ~37 km
From the heart of the vineyards of Anjou you will follow the slopes of the Loire River to Aubance and Layon. Continue along the banks of the Loire until you come to Chalonnes, where Loire and Layon run together. And finally you will arrive in Montjean-sur-Loire, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 3: Montjean-sur-Loire - Champtoceaux, ~40 km
Today you ride along the banks of the River Loire to Champtoceaux that is marking the boundary between Anjou and Brittany.
Day 4: Champtoceaux - Nantes, ~32 km
From the countryside and small villages you will pedal to the elegant city of Nantes, historical capital of Brittany. Discover another point of view of the Loire in the capital of the western part.
Day 5: Nantes - Saint Brévin, ~58 km
The stage leads along marshlands and countryside to finish at the estuary of the Loire River and enjoy the seaside and beaches.
Day 6: Alas! Departure
You’ll get back to Angers individually by train.

Optional day: Saint Brévin - Le Croisic, ~53-60 km
It is possible to add another stage from Saint Brévin to Le Croisic at the end of the tour. The overnight stay and breakfast in Le Croisic are included. From the estuary of the River Loire you will ride to the wild sea coast of Le Croisic. The opportunity to discover the famous salterns of the medieval town of Guérande should not be missed.
