Ile d'Oléron - Daily round trip de Luxe - 7 days

from 990 € Per person

The island Île d’Oléron is one of the most beautiful islands near the French Atlantic coast. The nature is just as wonderful and diverse with long sandy beaches, wetlands, salt pans and small vineyards. This island also has a well-developed network of cycle paths. In addition, the original architecture has been respected and the beautiful villages have not been messed up with modern or ugly buildings. The climate is mild, even in winter. We especially recommend the months of spring and autumn, as the island is visited by many tourists in midsummer (July and August). You will stay in a stylish and modern 4-star design hotel in a unique location, namely on the highest dune of the island. The open sea is at your feet, the view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The hotel has a large wellness area with an indoor pool, massage services and other amenities.

Day 1: Arrival to the Île d‘Oléron
If you arrive by train a transfer from the airport or train station of La Rochelle to the 4 **** hotel is possible (price on request, depends on day of the week and time of arrival).
Day 2: Round trip to Château d‘Oléron, ~ 35 km
Today you cycle to La Cotinière and then to Dolus d'Oléron. You go through this village and further on small paths to the Northern coast. On the lonely coastal path - no car! - to the village of Le Château d’Oléron with its impressive fortress. There are enough cozy restaurants here. A lunch break is recommended.
Day 3: Round trip to Saint Trojan les Bains, ~ 40-45 km
On the bike path to the southernmost tip of the island to the village of Saint Trojan les Bains. Along the coast and then to the beach “Plage de Gatseau”. Take the same way back to return to your hotel. There are several detours possible to different sections of the beach - always worthwhile. You are all alone with the sea.
Day 4: Round trip to Boyardville, ~ 25 km
Take the bike path to Saint Pierre d'Oléron, the “capital” of the island. Continue on cycle paths via Sauzelle and the marshland to the village, harbor and fortress Boyardville, from which you can admire the fortress Boyard in the middle of the sea when the weather is clear. There are also ships that offer excursions. A lunch break would be ideal in this village.
Day 5: Round trip to La Brée les Bains, ~ 25 km
Always follow the cycle paths to La Brée les Bains. Nice little towns line your route like Saint Georges d’Oléron before you take the coastal path to La Brée les Bains. It is also on the north coast and lunch is set for you in one of the restaurants. Back you continue on bike paths to the small village of Domino and from there on the south coast to the hotel.
Day 6: Trip to the Chassiron lighthouse, ~ 35 km
This lighthouse is at the very north-western tip of the island and looks forward to your visit. Then make a worthwhile detour to Saint Denis d’Oléron with its port, lighthouse and ... some bars. Indulge your stomach with fresh fish, oysters, mussels or much more that the fishermen bring from the sea. From there take the same way back to the hotel.
Day 7: Unfortunately, the end of the trip
Unfortunately, departure (or extension on this wonderful island and further relaxation in this dream hotel).
