Day 1: Arrival in Levanto, ~2,5 h
Levanto is the gate to the Cinque Terre region. Come here and settle down in your comfortable 3*** hotel, where you will spend the next five nights. Afterwards you should have a first little hiking tour of about 3h as a warm up. The bay of Levanto with its breathtaking views over the surroundings might be the best place to do this.
Day 2: Along the coast to Monterosso and Vernazza, ~3,5 h or 5,5 h
Today you will discover the first part of the famous bay of Cinque Terre. On your way you will pass by the charming small villages of Monterossoet and Vernazza that are absolutely worth a visit.
Day 3: To the villages of Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, ~4,5 h
It is such a magnificent hiking trail that leads you to the heart of the Cinque Terre region today. And the small villages of Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore will be enchanting you.
Day 4: Peninsula of Portofino, ~2,5 h or 5,5 h
The day starts with a short train ride to Santa Margherita. From here you will hike to the town of Portofino with its lively port. On your way across the peninsula you will have astonishing views over the Liguria Sea on one side and the Italian coast line on the other…just wonderful.
Day 5: Riomaggiore - Portovenere, ~3 h or 5 h
After another short transfer by train you will start this long but beautiful stage in Madone. First stop is in Monte Nero from where you will head along the coast to Portovenere, which is surrounded by many smaller islands that give this place its special ambience. And if you want you can enjoy your way back to Levanto on a boat to see all this beauty again, but now from the other side.
Day 6: Around Levanto and departure, ~1,5 h or 3 h
This morning gives you the last chance to do again a short hiking tour. On your way around Levanto you will discover a handful of lovely and colorful villages where the time seems to be standing still. And if you haven’t found the time, yet then it is now that you should discover the town of Levanto…it is worth. You must vacate the parking place and the rooms after the breakfast.
