The Vltava is the longest and most famous river in the Czech Republic which is running north from its source through Prague, merging with the Elbe (Labe) at Melnik. The Berounka is a small affluent which is running into the Vltava about 12 km in the south of Prague. And the valleys of these two rivers are that beautiful and full of wood, small hills and little villages. On your tour you will visit the famous castle of Karlstejn, an impressive flowstone cave which is 600 meters deep, a romantic stone quarry, many towns and villages of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, typical Czech breweries and restaurants and many other sights. You are riding from Prague to the village of Karlstein, where you will spend three days. And each day you will discover interesting sights and natural wonders on your bike. You will enjoy the pubs and restaurants on your way and you will find a region which isn’t still influenced by the mass-tourism. The cycling tracks are mostly tarmacked, but you are also riding on forest tracks which are a bit more challenging. The tour starts and ends in Prague, the so called “Golden City”. The Czech capital is for sure one of the most beautiful and famous cities in Europe. Use the chance to discover this fascinating metropolis with all its cultural highlights like the Charles Bridge, the Wenceslas Square or the Prague Castle, which is the largest castle in the whole wide world. We wish you nice holidays.
