This combined tour with boat and bike leads you to the beautiful coast of the Gulf of Sorrento with all its small islands like Capri and Ischia. It's not by chance that lots of painters and writers choose to settle down here. Come and make yourself a picture of the beauty of this region. You'll be impressed by the breath taking views over the sea and on the Vesuvius while sitting high up on one of the countless cliffs along the coastline. But it's not only the wonderful landscape that makes this tour a real highlight. So you will visit for example Pompeii, one of the most popular and impressive archeological sites worldwide. And you will discover Naples, the Italian metropolis in the south.
Day 1: Individual arrival to Castellammare di Stabia
The embarkation is at 6 o'clock pm at the Marina di Castellammare di Stabia. After the accommodation on board there’s a welcome drink, the dinner and the presentation of the program. The night you’ll spend in the port of Castellammare di Stabia.
Day 2: Cycle trip to Pompeii, ~14 km/9 miles
The first cycle trip leads you to Pompeii and the Villa dei Misteri. It is the biggest open-air archaeological site of the world. It’s a great example of past human life, where the huge eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 A.D. fixed forever under ashes and lava men in their daily activities. Afterwards you’ll return to the Marina di Castellammare and sail with the boat towards Sorrento, where you’ll do a walking visit of the town and return to the boat. Overnight stay is on the gulet in roadstead in Sorrento.
Day 3: Sorrento - Positano - Amalfi, ~34 km/21 miles
In the morning you will sail along Sorrento coast. You cross “Passo San Pietro” (St. Peter’s pass) and you enter in the Amalfi coast, where you will cycle along the wonderful road overlooking the sea up to Positano. Its colorful houses have been built in amphitheater shape, overlooking the sea, giving a unique and picturesque aspect to the village. After Positano you continue towards Amalfi, the most powerful Mariner Republic at the end of X century. We suggest visiting the cloister of Paradise and the church and a walk along the main street that is connected with many narrow streets between white fisherman’s houses. After that you return to the gulet and spend the night in the port in Amalfi.
Day 4: Amalfi - Cetara or Ravello, ~29 or 39 km/18 or 24 miles
From Amalfi you continue your cycle tour along the coast, cycling on a street with some ups and downs overlooking the sea, crossing the villages of Minori, Maiori and Cetara. It is possible to make a deviation and go up towards Ravello, where in the placid beauty of the main square, the Dome dedicated to Saint Pantaleone stands out. The blood of the Saint liquefies every year on 27th July. From the village dominating the sea from 300 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a view beyond the Gulf of Salerno and up to the Cilento mountains. We suggest a visit to Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, whose architecture (a mélange of Arab, Sicilian and Norman style) was an inspiration for Wagner. You return on the road along the coast to finally reach Cetara and Salerno. You come back to the gulet for the overnight stand in roadstead in Salerno.
Day 5: Capri
The day starts with a sailing up to Capri. You will have some breaks during the sailing to take a bath and to admire the Amalfi coast from the sea. Afterwards you visit the island on foot. You reach the village of Capri with its famous “piazzetta” and continue to the Faraglioni. From above the cliff you can enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples dominated by the Vesuvius. The overnight in the gulet is in the port of Porto Sant’Angelo on Ischia Island.
Day 6: Ischia, ~25 km/16 miles
Cycling from the thermal village of S. Angelo you will cross by bike the western part of the island among the scents and flavors of the Mediterranean Sea, crossing little villages with the possibility of visiting little museums along the stage. Once you reach, there’s embarkation and overnight in the port of Ischia.
Day 7: Procida and Naples
You sail up to Procida and do a walking visit of the town and the San Michele Abbey. You return to the boat to continue to Naples. Starting from “Spacca Napoli”, you will discover the city center characterized by narrow streets, with washing hung out, baroque churches and palaces, the San-Carlo theatre, the Gallery Umberto the 1st and the Plebiscito Square. In the afternoon you reach again the ship and you sail up to Marina di Castellammare di Stabia where you’ll spend the night in the Marina.
