Arrival in Dijon and at your hotel. Opportunity to explore the former home town of the Dukes of Burgundy. The Gothic collegiate church of Notre Dame, the Ducal Palace with the reclining statues of the Dukes, the impressive city palaces from the from the 17th and 18th centuries are well worth a visit.

You cycle via Marsannay-la-Côte to Vougeot, to the famous Clos de Vougeot, once the wine press of the Cistercian monks. Wonderful little vineyard roads lead you to Nuits-Saint-Georges where a wine tasting awaits you. Nuits-Saint-Georges is known for its premier cru wines, you will certainly enjoy this wine tasting. Then you will continue on small picturesque roads to Beaune, the capital of wine. Opportunity for an evening stroll through the vibrant wine town.
Day 3 Beaune - Semur en Auxois ~ 81 km
You leave Beaune heading north via Savigny-le-Beaune through a pretty valley in the direction of Châteauneuf. Châteauneuf is one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France and is situated high above the Auxois region. You ride to the medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois.
Day 4 Semur en Auxois- Vézelay ~78 km
Through the pastures and the village of Epoisses, famous for its cheese, you reach one of the most beautiful valleys of Burgundy, the Vallée du Cousin. The Cousin meanders through the romantic river valley. It goes through the lovely Avallonais, past natural hedgerows and grazing Charolais cattle to Vézelay. You cross the viaduct, which is situated at a dizzying height with a view of the 17th century Pierre-Perthuis bridge. Vézelay (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and its basilica with its Romanesque sculptural decorations are worth a longer stay.
Day 5 Vézelay - Auxerre ~ 58 km
