On this tour through Bohemia you will discover highlights like the capital Prague, the Renaissance towns of Telc and Trebon and the Renaissance castle in Jindrichuv Hradec. Enjoy landscapes like the Czech-Moravian highlands and the Czech Canada with woods and continental divide on the border to Austria. During the second part of your journey you have the possibility to visit the beautiful and picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov which is the best-preserved medieval town in Europe. And last but not least the Neo-gothic Chateau Hluboka nad Vltavou which is probably the most romantic chateau in the Czech Republic.
Day 1: Arrival in Prague
Day 2: Transfer to Telc
The tour starts with a transfer (160 km by van) from Prague to Telc. In the evening you will have enough time to visit the Renaissance-town of Telc.
Day 3: Jindrichuv Hradec, ~45 km
This morning you got the option to visit the Renaissance-castle of Telc and the famous place around. Through the hilly region of the Czech Highland you will ride on to the castle of Jindrichuv Hradec (optional visit).
Day 4: Jindrichuv Hradec > Trebon, ~45 km
An easy route leads you through the deep forest along the Czech border area and through the Trebon region of fishponds and man-made lakes. You will touch the most northern point of Austria at the Peršlák restaurant in the middle of the forest. In the medieval town of Trebon you can visit the chateau, its gardens and the Schwarzenberg Tomb. And local breweries are offering guided tours with testing.
Day 5: Trebon > Cesky Krumlov, ~53-64 km
This is a strenuous ride through partially hilly countryside, mostly on tarmac roads. Cesky Krumlov is probably the most splendid medieval town in central Europe with the second largest chateau of the country.
Day 6: Cesky Krumlov - day off
Day off rest in Cesky Krumlov to discover and enjoy this pearl among Czech towns. Optional program: sightseeing, visit of Cesky Krumlov castle and gardens, cycling trip in the surrounding area of Cesky Krumlov or rafting on the Vltava River.
Day 7: Cesky Krumlov > Hluboka nad Vltavou, ~42 km
Today you are following the Vltava River to the Zlata Koruna monastery, which was founded in 1263 by King Přemysl Otakar II. It is a precious complex of gothic architecture. After that you will ride to Česke Budejovice, the hometown of Budweiser beer. The Ceske Budejovice square is the largest one in central Europe. After visiting the city you will ride along the Vltava River the last 12 km to Hluboka where you will spend the night.
Day 8: Hluboka nad Vltavou > Holasovice, ~45 km
Today there is an optional chateau excursion in Hluboka at the end of the tour. Afterwards there is the departure from Hluboka and the transfer back to Prague with the AVE minibus in the late afternoon. After the check-in in Prague you will have the time, to visit the Czech capital.
