Day 1: Arrival at airport Faro
Welcome to the Algarve! Our guide will pick you up at the airport. Arriving in Tavira, we recommend taking some time to explore the architectural heritage that harbors Roman, Arab, and Christian influences. Enjoy and make the most of your rest, as tomorrow, new adventures await you!
Day 2: Bike tour around Tavira I 38 km
It's the first riding day where you will cycle calm, serene roads close to the Serra Algarvia. Pass small villages and ride along the old roads and rural paths, where you will cross a vast area of orange trees (it smells wonderful!). Discover the „Pego do Inferno„, where you can admire a nice waterfall. Enjoy the ride back to Tavira, where you will be staying for another night.
Day 3: Tavira- Faro I 50 km
A little gem on the Algarve coast! After a great and filling breakfast, you will start today’s journey in Tavira and ride along the incredible Ria Formosa, one of the most beautiful natural parks in the country. An absolute paradise for birdwatchers and part of the Natura 2000 Network. Today's views will provide some epic sights. You will also pass by Fuzeta, a fishing village full of character, famous for its traditional clay pottery and lively harbor. Admire the spectacle of colorful fishing boats and watch the many local fishermen land their catches or fix their nets in front of their huts. A day close to the simple and traditional Portuguese life.
Day 4: Faro - Vilamoura I 31 km
Head north and roll through the small ups and downs of the hills close to the Algarve mountain range. After leaving Faro, you will ride along the city's riverside park, a route that will take you from the city center to the well-known Ludo. Located in the Ria Formosa, Ludo is one of the most popular trails because it is possible to find flamingos and other preserved species. This trail follows the border between the land environment and the lagoon system of Ria Formosa and lets you visit different habitats: forest areas, salt marshes, and saltpans. The day ends at Vilamoura, one of the most prestigious resorts in Portugal. Visit its beautiful marina, the perfect place to enjoy the sunset while having a delicious dinner.
Day 5: Vilamoura - Carvoeiro I 53 km
One of the Algarve's most famous beaches is waiting for you. The „Germans' Beach„ is located in Albufeira City, one of the most famous cities during summer. Enjoy the good weather and take a swim. You will also pass the Salgados Lagoon, an excellent bird-watching spot. Finally, arrive at your destination today in Carvoeiro. If you have some time left, make sure to visit Vale Covo's beach, just a few minutes away from your hotel.
Day 6: Carvoeiro - Silves I 38 km
Time to leave the coast behind and explore the Algarve's interior for a while. From here, you will follow the Arade River until you arrive at the historic Moorish town of Silves. You will pass through two small cities in the middle of your journey today: Estômbar and Lagoa. It may be a good opportunity to stop for lunch. Further on, you will pass through a golf field, and you will notice that the landscape starts to lose that coast characteristic and starts to get greener. That means you are getting closer to your destination today. If you still have energy left, check out Ribeira do Arade Dam, a few kilometers from your hotel.
Day 7: Silves - Lagos I 49 km
Today, you are heading back to the coast and also your last cycling day, so let's make the most of it. Your day starts going south in the direction of the city of Silves, and there could be your first stop of the day to visit Silves Castle. Further on, a city called Odiáxere invites you to taste its gastronomy. Eventually, you will arrive at the sea at an incredibly long beach by the bay filled with golden sand called „Meia Praia„ and then in the city of Lagos, one of the oldest towns in the Algarve. Save some time to walk around downtown and dine out.
Day 8: Departure
Time goes by incredibly fast when you're having fun, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! Get ready for your trip back home. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to the airport.
