Moselle
From Trier to Koblenz







Spend your bicycle vacation in the most famous wine growing region of Germany along one of the most beautiful rivers. Admire the "Kaiserthermen" (Emperor‘s hot springs) and the Porta Nigra - historical buildings of first rank in the Roman city of Trier. By bike you reach famous towns like Bernkastel Kues, Traben Tarbach, Cochem, Neumagen Dhron (the oldest German wine town) and Enkirch, a jewel of the regional medieval "Fachwerk" (Tudor style) architecture. Visit Castle Eltz and enjoy romantic stretches on your ride. In the evening you find pleasure in regional delicacies brought to you by select restaurants. And don‘t fail to taste the art of the local winegrowers!








Day 1: Arrival in Trier
You should take your time for the visit of the historical centre, the ‚Kaiserthermen‘ (imperial thermal baths) and the Porta Nigra (Arrival possible by German railway/ parking site and rental bike at the hotel).
Day 2: Trier → Trittenheim, ~ 42 km / 26 miles
You cycle on the Moselle bike way to Trittenheim, where a wine nature trail provides you with general information about wine. Today we recommend a tasting (8 wines) with cellar visitation and vintager snack.
Day 3: Trittenheim → Zeltingen, ~ 35 km / 21,7 miles
In the morning you reach Neumagen-Drohn, the oldest vine village in Germany. You enjoy your lunch break on the market place of Bernkastel-Kues, before you reach your destination of today – Zeltingen.
Day 4: Zeltingen → Zell, ~ 36 km / 22,3 miles
You cycle through the wine growing area ‚Kröver Nacktarsch‘ to Traben-Trarbach. Compelte your programme of today with a boat tour on the Moselle. After a break in Enkirch, the role model of framework architecture, you reach Zell.
Day 5: Zell → Treis-Karden, ~ 47 km / 29,1 miles
Today you cycle via Beilstein the, ‚Rothenburg at the Moselle‘, to Cochem. There you can visit the picturesque city centre as well as the old Reichsburg castle (11th century).
Day 6: Treis-Karden → Koblenz, ~ 42 km / 26 miles
After a possible visit of the medieval castle Eltz you cycle the last kilometres through the Moselle Valley to Koblenz.
Day 7: Koblenz, Departure
After breakfast your nice cycle holiday ends in Braubach (Departure possible by German railway / we recommend our transfer service to Trier (Departure 9 a.m., duration about 2 hrs.)
